Owned by Lancer Capital (Avram Glazer), the Desert Vipers are one of six teams competing in the ILT20 tournament held in the UAE during December and January. The Desert Vipers were the first team to qualify for the Final in the inaugural 2023 edition and were finalists in seasons 3 and 4. They won the tournament for the first time in season 4 on January 4, 2026, beating MI Emirates.
Phil Oliver (CEO), Tom Moody (Director of Cricket), and James Foster (Head Coach) lead the operations, supported by Azhar Mahmood (Bowling Coach), Simon Helmot (Fielding Coach), and Neil McKenzie (Batting Coach).
Captain Lockie Ferguson became injured in season 4, prompting Sam Curran to lead the Vipers, with a strong squad including Fakhar Zaman, Shimron Hetmyer, Hassan Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Dan Lawrence, Khuzaima Bin Tanveer and Andries Gous among others. The Vipers are pioneers of sustainability in cricket, prioritising eco-conscious operations and transparency in their carbon footprint, aiming to set a benchmark for global sports teams.
