The Desert Vipers will welcome 1600 craft labor to the Sustainability Match on February 3rd in Dubai, as part of their partnership agreement with UK-based initiative Bat For A Chance (BFAC).

BFAC, who are a Desert Vipers Sustainability Impact Partner, are working with McDermott, a local engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI)company who are committed to creating and delivering sustainable solutions, in keeping with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Around 1600 craft labor employed by  McDermott will be provided access to the match; the workers will also be provided transport to and from the venue by McDermott.

The Sustainability Match is the perfect opportunity for the Desert Vipers and BFAC, to fulfil their shared objective of providing match tickets to craft labor across the United Arab Emirates for season two of the DP World ILT20 that began in January 2024.

On February 3rd the Desert Vipers aim to turn the Dubai International Stadium green, and McDermott’s employees will have a chance to participate and contribute to a host of initiatives being rolled out by the franchise that will highlight the issues of climate change and plastic waste.

That includes fans being asked to bring with them old, unused or unwanted items of sports clothing which will then be recycled or upcycled, in keeping with the Vipers’ commitment to sending nothing to landfill.

The Desert Vipers are pleased to bring together BFAC and McDermott in partnership for what will be a very special day for McDermott’s employees.

Earlier this month the Desert Vipers entered into a multi-year agreement with BFAC through which the franchise and its players and staff will supply kit and equipment to the UK-based initiative. These kits will then be distributed by BFAC to schools, clubs and academies around the world to help them experience the joy of cricket. The partnership with BFAC aligns with the franchise’s core identity which is built around sustainability.
