Desert Vipers – Plastic Impact Report

Desert Vipers are pleased to release their inaugural Plastic Impact Report – the first of its kind in sports – in partnership with Bluewater Group.

Plastic pollution is one of the greatest challenges facing society, and cricket and sports in general are a large contributor to this issue. Beyond that, through aligning itself with high plastic consumption, sports gives the green light for wider society to continue using plastic at accelerating rates, impacting people and the planet.

To address this, Desert Vipers partnered with Bluewater Group to replace single-use plastic water bottles with reusable bottles and refillable water units, saving 14,400 single-use plastic water bottles across a five-week season.

This report analyses that change in more detail, as well as assessing all of Desert Vipers’ plastic usage as a franchise across an entire season (Season 2), to understand where the franchise can improve.
